GENERAL NEWS

The BASEBALL sign up  deadline has been extended till the end of the day Tuesday.  If you have not signed up by then you will not be able to be on the team this year.  - Coach Eddington

Students who have not turned in red folders or have missing paperwork should have those turned in ASAP.  Also students who have purchased parking tags need to return your forms and get your hang tags ASAP.   Students will be called to the office Wednesday if everything is not complete by then.

St. Bernards is currently accepting applications for the Patient Ambassador Program.  Applications are due September 15th.  This program allows students (ages 15-18) an opportunity to volunteer in a hospital setting where they will explore areas of healthcare and gain experience in helping others.  It will be a year-round program allowing them to fulfill any of their needed community service hours or graduation requirements.  Applications may be picked up in the nurse’s office.

Duty teachers - band students currently have permission to come to the band room at lunch, as they have a project due.  We'll let you know when they'll need individual notes again.

CLUB NEWS

FFA Members wanting to go to National FFA Convention need to bring $100 deposit before they can sign up for convention.  Please see Mr. Washburn for more information.

S.W.A.T. will meet on every Tuesday in Mrs. Baty's room.  Everyone is invited.  You can bring your lunch.

News from the Counselor…

Any student interested in a career in nursing is being asked to complete a 10 question survey. Please email me back so that I can share the information with you.

MONDAY

We will release students for lunch in two waves.  Main hall classes will be released by intercom at 11:00.  Math/Science hall classes will be released at 11:45.  ALL teachers will accompany students to the cafeteria.  After lunch all students will stay with their 4th hour teachers in the classrooms designated per Mrs. Grooms.  

The solar eclipse occurs today and will be in our area beginning at 11:49 a.m. and ending at 2:47 p.m.  We will not have outside viewings of the eclipse.  However, we will provide exposure through a variety of learning activities which may include video coverage via NASA’s website and/or the district’s Live Streaming capabilities.  Student’s who are participating with their families in viewing the eclipse will be excused but they must bring a note stating they are absent due to family activity viewing the eclipse.  Students who are absent all day, as well as students who are checked out by parents before the eclipse, will all be excused but a note must be provided.

Everyone is invited to attend the Writer's Group on Monday in Mrs. Bass' room and on Friday in Ms. Crutcher's room during lunch.  Please bring some of your written work.

Football Benefit Game  vs Valley View @ 7:00 at HOME… Admission will be $4.00 a person.  ONLY passes that will be honored are AAA passes. No staff or student passes will be honored.
