GENERAL NEWS

The Randolph County Fair will be August 28th-September 2nd.  

Students!  Check your email from Mrs. Hogan regarding a FREE ACT Webinar this weekend.  Click the link to sign up for the Sept. 2-3rd classes.  

Students who receive free and reduced meals are only allowed one breakfast at the free or reduced rate.  If a student wants a second breakfast, the second must be paid for.

PHS Booster Club has a few Kick-Off T-shirts still for sale.  (Sizes available - adult small, adult large, adult 3x) They are $10.  See Monica Brewington at MD Williams.

St. Bernards is currently accepting applications for the Patient Ambassador Program.  Applications are due September 15th.  This program allows students (ages 15-18) an opportunity to volunteer in a hospital setting where they will explore areas of healthcare and gain experience in helping others.  It will be a year-round program allowing them to fulfill any of their needed community service hours or graduation requirements.  Applications may be picked up in the nurse’s office.

Duty teachers - band students currently have permission to come to the band room at lunch, as they have a project due.  We'll let you know when they'll need individual notes again.- Brady Massey

Tutoring has begun: Math (Steimel, Helms, Murray) on Tuesday and Thursday each week. Literacy with Mrs. Bass (includes all other areas) on Tuesday and Thursday each week. Tutoring is in the after school from 3:30-4:30.

***Please remember to use caution when walking to and from buildings.  Students should use the crosswalks especially of the mornings and the afternoons when traffic is the busiest.  Drivers please use caution and be aware of students walking around campus.

CLUB NEWS

LINK has a very important meeting on Friday,  September 1, in the Junior High gym starting at 12:10 p.m.   All students that are interested in joining LINK/PRIDE/COALITION, please attend this short  20 minute meeting. This first meeting will include high school and junior high school students. Callie Shore will be here and plans on giving out really cool prizes to everyone that signs up to be part of the Randolph County Coalition. LINK/PRIDE members are joining up with the Coalition to make a bigger impact on Pocahontas.  Mrs. Cox will be your LINK/PRIDE sponsor this year at both the high school and junior high school.

FFA Members wanting to attend National FFA Convention need to have their Deposit paid on September 5th by 8:00 AM

FFA Members showing at the Randolph County Fair please check with Mrs. Dianna for the days that you are out to show.  

Also any FFA Member wanting to order an FFA T-Shirt the signup sheet is in Mr. Washburn's Room and you must pay for your t-shirt before you sign the sheet.  

If you are wanting to compete in the Tractor Driving Contest at the District Fair please see Mr. Hogan for information.

ART CLUB is still taking new members!  Join us for an ART CLUB meeting, Thursday, 9/7/17 in Ms. Galvan's room at lunch.

FBLA -  Anyone interested in joining FBLA needs to pay their dues of $20 to Mrs. Hall or Mrs. Blalock by Sept. 15th.

S.W.A.T. will meet on every Tuesday in Mrs. Baty's room.  Everyone is invited.  You can bring your lunch.

Key Club  meets every Wednesday in Mr. James Room (#19)

Pep Rally - 3rd hour @ 10:25… Students will be released by intercom.   Please release the cheerleaders at 10:05 today to prepare for the pep rally.

Any Jr Class member who would like to be on the Homecoming committee needs to meet in Mrs. Bass's room on Friday at 12:00. Please bring your lunch with you!

Project Graduation will meet at 2:30 in the PHS Cafeteria. All seniors and parents are encouraged to attend.
