Sophomores & Juniors: Mrs. Hogan has sent you a survey that Mrs. Grooms needs each of you to complete it TODAY. It is important in helping determine classes for us to offer next year.

Congratulations! Baylee Inman will be signing her letter of intent to play basketball with CRC today at 9:30 in the high school gym. Anyone who would like to be a part of her day is welcome to attend but you must get teacher approval before attending.

Prom t-shirts will be on sale this week during lunch in the lobby by the concession stand. Prices are $15 for small-xlarge, $16 for XXL and $17 for XXXL. Deadline to order is Friday, April 15th and shirts must be paid for when ordered.

Seniors Only - SUMMER JOBS --- If you are interested in a job this summer with Work Force, come by the high school office to fill out an application. Application need to be returned by 04/15/2016

GENERAL NEWS

Juniors please check your mailing address in your HAC account. There will be a post card mailed out this summer for your senior picture with date and time. The dates for senior pictures will be July 26 and 27.

If you have a correction for your address, please contact the office.

Redskin Cheer packets are by the bulletin board in the hallway.

Project Graduation Basketball Tournament April 29th & 30th - All Seniors see Mrs. Inman to sign up to work the tournament.

Driver's Education Class: Driver's Ed will be offered at PJHS on May 26th, 27th, 31st, June 1st and 2nd from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. (one hour break for lunch - lunch is not provided). Students will earn 0.5 elective Credit upon completion of class. In order to be placed on the list for driver's ed a student must have their Driver's Permit and a check in the amount of $200.00 (check will not be deposited until the first day of class). Four seats are available. There will only be one class available. Sign up in PJHS Office.

The band room is closed to students during lunch, unless a student has a note signed by a band director with permission to be there.

PARKING REMINDER: Students are not to park at the athletic complex or the agri building during school hours. Park in your designated class areas.

Circle of Friends: If anyone is interested in joining the Circle of Friends, peer applications are available in the office.

SWAT meetings every Wednesday in Mrs. Baty’s room (Rm 22) at lunch- Bring your lunch!

Math tutoring is available Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday BEFORE SCHOOL (7:00 - 7:50 in Rm 18 - Henderson) and AFTER SCHOOL (3:30 - 4:30 in Rm 26 - Steimel). Literacy and other subjects tutoring is available Tuesday and Thursday after school 3:30 - 4:30 in Rm 24 - Bass.

Announcements from the counselor's office...

Many of you have asked about your scores from the ACT that was taken on March 9th. I have contacted ACT this morning and it may take up to eight weeks to receive your scores. Continue to monitor your online account for your scores.

You can now begin applying for federal financial aid to attend post secondary school. To do so follow the link, www.fafsa.ed.gov. Other links to FAFSA are NOT creditable and will charge you for your application.

Be sure to complete and return the scholarship recognition form to Mrs. Hogan no later than April 18th at noon. See your email for the form.

The NEA Wounded Warriors will be awarding several scholarships again this year. Graduates of Randolph, Clay, Craighead, Greene, and Lawrence counties may apply if you live in one of the 5 counties and are a relative of a disabled veteran. The application can be downloaded from their Facebook page or by contacting Chad Overman, Danny Barr, or Chris Palmer. Their Facebook page is NEA Wounded Warriors. Deadline for application is April 20th and is to be submitted to Mike Richardson at the Veterans Office on the Square. (Check email sent by Mrs. Hogan on 3/15 for a revised scholarship application)

FFA Scholarship deadline to submit is April 22nd at 5:00 p.m. For graduating seniors of 2016 and must be a member of FFA to qualify.

You may begin applying at www.adhe.edu. for the Arkansas Challenge Scholarship by going to the YoUniversal tab. Those still needing to meet requirements have until June 1st.

The "Aspiring Fashion Professional" Scholarship is a $1,000 scholarship that will be awarded to students that are interested in pursuing a fashion degree at an accredited post-secondary school or college. Interested students can visit this link www.fashion-schools.org and find the scholarship located at the bottom of the page and click on it. The deadline is June 1, 2016.

The "Aspiring Animation Professional" Scholarship Program is a $1000 scholarship awarded for AnimationCareerReview.com. This will be awarded to students that are interested in pursuing an animation career path at an accredited post-secondary school or college. Visit our website, www.careeranimationreview.com to find eligibility information along with the online application. The scholarship will be on the right side of the page and click on it. The deadline is June 1, 2016.

Nursing Schools Almanac has just launched its second annual Aspiring Nurse Scholarship. They will award a $1,000 scholarship to an aspiring nurse. This scholarship is open to all high school seniors who plan to pursue college education in nursing, including LPN / LVN, ADN, and BSN programs. Scholarship applications will be accepted until midnight on June 30, 2016. They ask interested students to visit www.nursingschoolsalmanac.com and click the banner on the right-hand side of the website's homepage.
