THURSDAY

Community wide Pep Rally at 8:15 in the PHS gym for the Lady Redskins as they head to Fayetteville for the State Championship Game Friday @ 5:30 at Bogle Field !!!!

Congratulations Josiah Marlow !!! He is signing with Williams Baptist College this morning for track. Please release the boys track team only at 9:20 to the athletic complex for the signing.

Congratulations Natalie Toney !!! She completes the 2 day Arkansas Heptathlon today and she finished yesterday in 6th place of 73 participants !!! We are proud of you and Good Luck today !!!

You can still order a 2nd Annual Track & Field Day t-shirt. See one of the special education teachers by noon Thursday, May 19th. Shirts are $10.

Lady Redskins take on Mena at 5:30 at Bogle Field in Fayetteville for the 4A State Championship game!!! Go Lady Skins… We are proud of you !!! It’s not over till the last out !!! Students attending the game and not riding the pep bus must find Coach Baty or Mrs. Grooms to sign in so that your absence will be excused.

There will be a pep bus taken to Fayetteville to watch the Lady Skins take on Mena in the 4A State Championship !!! Permission slips will be sent home Wednesday and must be returned Friday morning at 8 a.m. Admission at the game will be $6.00 and students will need spending money for food/drink at the game.

THURSDAY

Report Card Day… Students will receive their final report card at 8:00 a.m. Students that walk or ride in cars to school may leave after receiving their report card. Bus riders will be dismissed about 8:30 a.m. for the return trip from school.

GENERAL NEWS

Please be sure you have all books and materials turned in to your teachers and lockers are cleaned out by the last day of school. Students are responsible to pay for lost books (classroom & library). Lunch accounts must also be paid up.

Students that signed up for the ACT Summer Academy are reminded that the program dates are May 31, June 6,7,8,9, and 10. Times are from 8:30 - 12:30.

Juniors please check your mailing address in your HAC account. There will be a post card mailed out this summer for your senior picture with date and time. The dates for senior pictures will be July 26 and 27.

If you have a correction for your address, please contact the office.

Driver's Education Class: Driver's Ed will be offered at PJHS on May 26th, 27th, 31st, June 1st and 2nd from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. (one hour break for lunch - lunch is not provided). Students will earn 0.5 elective Credit upon completion of class. In order to be placed on the list for driver's ed a student must have their Driver's Permit and a check in the amount of $200.00 (check will not be deposited until the first day of class). 2 seats are available. There will only be one class available. Sign up in PJHS Office.

NEA Baptist Memorial Hospital will be hosting NURSE CAMP June 27-June 29. This is a FREE 3-day program open to high school students (grades 9-12) with an interest in medical field. There is limited space and applications are due June 1st. Applications may be picked up in the Nurse's Office. For questions call 870-936-0274.

Math tutoring is available Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday BEFORE SCHOOL (7:00 - 7:50 in Rm 18 - Henderson) and AFTER SCHOOL (3:30 - 4:30 in Rm 26 - Steimel). Literacy and other subjects tutoring is available Tuesday and Thursday after school 3:30 - 4:30 in Rm 24 - Bass.

UPCOMING EVENTS

Pocahontas Public Schools will conclude the 2015 - 2016 school year on Thursday, May 26, 2016. Students will return and receive their final report card at 8:00 a.m. Students that walk or ride in cars to school may leave after receiving their report card. Bus riders will be dismissed about 8:30 a.m. for the return trip from school. The staff, administration and Board wish all students an enjoyable summer vacation!

Summer School: May 26th - June 14th (8:00 a.m. -3:00 p.m.)

May 26th - June 2nd: Driver's Education Class.

Be sure to fill out a transcript release and return to the office or Mrs. Hogan if you plan to continue your education after graduation.

You may begin applying at www.adhe.edu. for the Arkansas Challenge Scholarship by going to the YoUniversal tab. Those still needing to meet requirements have until June 1st.
