General:
LINK has been taking orders for our 2016 LINK tee-shirt. Anyone may order a tee-shirt. The cost for short sleeves is $7.94 and the cost for long sleeves is $10.13 each. This is NOT a fundraiser for LINK. The design was created by Dakota Pyles. It has a tomahawk and feather on the front with LINK and the Pocahontas Alma Mater on the back. I really need the last order date to be November 11th. I would like for you to get them before Thanksgiving break, if possible.
LINK will be selling Little Caesars' Pizza Kits beginning on November 14, 2016. The last day to order is Friday December 2, 2016. Each LINK member will have an order form. If you just love pizza and want your own order form to help LINK, pick one up in Mrs. Cox's office. Money is due at the time of order. Delivery will be on Tuesday December 13, 2016. All kits will need to be picked up that afternoon of the 13th because the pizza kits are frozen and need to be in your freezer. Mrs. Cox will stay late that day to meet parents when they get off from work.
Jr. High Student Council is participating in a Coat Drive. Donate your new or gently used coats to help students of the Pocahontas School District stay warm this winter!
Coats may be dropped off at the Jr. High library from October 31-November 11.
Student Council and LINK will be collecting can foods for the Food Bank beginning in December. If each child brought five cans of food, then we could have over 2000 cans of food. Please work together and try to help our community and school students. The most giving people are those that understand what it means to do without or remember how blessed they have been.
The fall (green) athletic passes are no longer valid.
Winter athletic passes are accepted at the gate for winter sporting events. Winter sports (basketball, swim, cheer) athletic passes will be handed out the end of this week. Students must show their pass at the gate for free entry, otherwise students are to pay the $2.00 entry fee.
Mrs. McCallister's cram session has been canceled for today.
Bring a Vet to School Program (10:00 - 11:00) in the PJHS Gym for all students. Office will call by intercom.
9th Grade English Classes: Field Trip to Cannon Center in Memphis, TN. Leaves at 7:00 a.m. - 5:30 p.m.
Swim Team: Home swim meet at 5:00 pm. Swimmers will need to be there by 4:00 for warm ups. The swimmers will be dismissed at "normal" time (when school lets out for everyone else.) Pocahontas warm ups are at 4:00. Any student or staff member that would like to help at the swim meet are more than welcome to come help volunteer

Redskin Playoff Game @ 7:00 …. Pocahontas Public Schools will be hosting a football playoff game tonight. Local VIP (senior citizen passes), employee passes and student passes cannot be honored at playoff games due to the Arkansas Activities Association (AAA) sponsorship requirements. The admission price, as set by the Arkansas Activities Association, will be $6.00 for students and adults.
