GENERAL NEWS

SENIORS:  All library books should be turned in and/or fines paid: all class books need to be turned in to teachers: all lunch fines paid up to date; band fees paid; sitting fees paid;  Josten’s orders paid in full; and lockers cleaned out by Friday!

SENIORS:  The LAST DAY to return permission slips for PROJECT GRADUATION is FRIDAY (5/12).  If a permission slip is turned in by then you will not be allowed to attend.  

Class Representative Petitions are available in front of the office and in Mr. Phelps room. They are due May 10. Elections will be May 12.

All track warm ups and uniforms are due - Coach Casey

All softball uniforms (top, pants, pull over and belt) need to be turned in to Coach Holt no later than Friday - Coach Sharp

All library books are due Friday, May 12, 2017.

Any FFA member wanting to sign up to go Arkansas Leadership Conference on July 17th-21st the cost will be $62.50 per Member.  Please sign up by May 12th and pay by May 19th.  

Semester Test Schedule:  (Sophomores & Juniors)

May 18 - 6th and 7th period

May 19 - 3rd, 4th, and 5th period (makeup tests for 6th and 7th and any missing assignments)

May 22 - 1st and 2nd period (makeup tests for 3rd, 4th, and 5th and any missing assignments)

May 23 - make up tests for 1st and 2nd and any missing assignments

We have 18 yearbooks left! If you would like to get one of those 2017 yearbooks, please see Mrs. Sullinger immediately. They are $45.00. There will be no more yearbooks when these are gone!

The end of the 2016-2017 school year is quickly approaching.  Our last day of school will be Wednesday, May 24, 2017.  As part of our end of year fiscal process, we must zero out any meal charges.  Therefore, we ask that all meal charges be paid by the last day of school and request that no charges be made after May 1, 2017 if at all possible.  Please contact our central office staff if your child(ren) currently has charges and you need to establish a payment plan to pay off the charges.  We appreciate your assistance with this matter.

Any Junior who is interested in a career in Nutritional Science or Hospitality should see Mrs. Lynch concerning an upcoming open house for the new Programs at ASU.

ACT Summer Academy -  May 25th, 26th, 30th, 31st & June 5th - 9th… Once registered provide Mrs. Hogan with a copy of your ACT admission ticket.

Driver's Education Class Sign ups -  Students must have a Driver's Permit in order to take the class. Only 1 seat available.  First come/first serve.  Must have $200.00 check (check can be dated May 25th) to place name on list and Driver's Permit.  Sign up in PJHS Office.  Classes will be May 25th, 26th, 30th, 31st and June 1st.  (8:00 - 5:00 p.m. )   

Please remember to be cautious at the crosswalks.  Drivers please be on the lookout for students crossing as well as students being observant of the traffic.  Mornings and afternoons are very hectic with heavy traffic but we all need to use caution and be observant in these areas for the safety of all.  

REMINDER:  Students are to sign in and out of the office when they come onto and leave campus any time other than the first bell at 7:50 a.m.  Students who have classes on the BRTC campus are to sign in and out at the office according to their schedule.

REMINDER:  Students are not to sit in their vehicles once they arrive on campus.  Once you are parked you must exit your vehicle and come into the building.

ALL students who drive and park on our campus must have a current hang tag.

AP Language Test- Mrs. Vickrey and Mr. James. The bells will be turned off until lunch.

Fire Drill - has been moved to 5th period due to AP testing in the morning

Circle of Friends WILL meet on Thursday.  All CoF members need to attend.

AP World History Test-  in Mrs. Vickrey, Mr. James & Mrs. Baty’s rooms… The bells will be turned off until lunch.

FFA Banquet in PJHS Cafeteria @ 6:00 p.m.

FRIDAY

PHS Senior Breakfast 7:15 - 7:55 a.m. in PHS Cafe - Biscuit & Gravy, Sausage, Scrambled Eggs, Hash Browns, Fruit, Juice, Milk - Adult cost $2.00; student cost usual… Parents/Grandparents are invited to attend and have one last breakfast with their Senior !!!

Yearbook Presentation.  We will do an all call to release students to PHS gym

May 15th - Senior High Band Concert & Awards @ 6:30 p.m. at the PJHS  gym… ALL bands 6-12 will perform on Monday, May 15, which is the night the Junior High concert is scheduled. More specific details will come soon.

May 16th - Senior Awards Night @ MDW gym

May 17th - Make-up test for AP US History @ 8:00 and AP Language @ 12:00 noon

May 18th - Make-up test for AP Calculus and AP World History @ 8:00

May 19th - Make-up test for AP Literature @ 8:00 and AP Biology @ 12:00 noon

May 22nd - Region-Ready Trip to Memphis

May 23rd - Link end of the year trip to Silver Dollar City.  LINK forms for the Silver Dollar City trip are located in the baskets by the office.  You must be an active member of LINK to attend the trip.

May 24th - Last Day of School…. Students will be released early with Alma bus riders being dismissed at approximately 12:00 noon and all other bus riders at 12:15. Lunch will be served prior to dismissal.

NEA Baptist Nurse Camp - June 26th, 27th, 28th for all students grades 10-12 or recent graduates. Job shadowing, Tours, CPR Certification, Medical Skill Training, Team Building, Demonstrations and More.  Ask the counselor for an application. Students wanting to attend nursing camp are reminded that the application is included on the attachments.
