GENERAL NEWS

Students needing lockers or parking tags should come to the office between classes or during lunch.  

Students needing schedule changes should come to the office to fill out a request.  Mrs. Hogan will pick up the requests and call students to her office.  If students need to meet with Mrs. Hogan regarding other matters please sign your name on the Counselor’s Appointment List in the office. She will call students as she gets to them.

Please DO NOT remove the wood shelves from lockers.

Students should park in the class designated areas.  Your hang tag must be hung from the rearview mirror with the number showing through the front windshield.

***Senior parking areas are the front row in front of the building and the row between the main         building and business building.

*** Junior parking is in the lot beside the business building.

*** Sophomore parking is the row between the softball and baseball fields.

Students are to pull forward into parking spots.  Do not back into parking spots.  In the Junior parking area vehicles are to be nose to nose… do not pull through parking spots.

St. Bernards is currently accepting applications for the Patient Ambassador Program.  Applications are due September 15th.  This program allows students (ages 15-18) an opportunity to volunteer in a hospital setting where they will explore areas of healthcare and gain experience in helping others.  It will be a year-round program allowing them to fulfill any of their needed community service hours or graduation requirements.  Applications may be picked up in the nurse’s office.

Duty teachers - band students currently have permission to come to the band room at lunch, as they have a project due.  We'll let you know when they'll need individual notes again.

Any 9-12 grade boy interested in signing up for baseball needs to sign up in either the Sr.High office or on the sheet in Coach Eddington's window in Junior High Hall before Friday August 18th.

FRIDAY

Senior Class Meeting 2nd period.  Students go directly to the PHS cafeteria after 1st hour.

Great Job Golf Team !!!  Boys and Girls both placed first yesterday !!!

Last Day for sign ups for the Baseball Team.  Sign up sheet is in the office.

Week of August 21st - 26th

MONDAY

The solar eclipse occurs today and will be in our area beginning at 11:49 a.m. and ending at 2:47 p.m.  We will not have outside viewings of the eclipse.  However, we will provide exposure through a variety of learning activities which may include video coverage via NASA’s website and/or the district’s Live Streaming capabilities.  Student’s who are participating with their families in viewing the eclipse will be excused but they must bring a note stating they are absent due to family activity viewing the eclipse.  Students who are absent all day, as well as students who are checked out by parents before the eclipse, will all be excused but a note must be provided.

Pool Party sponsored by D.A.R.E. Tonight at the Pocahontas Aquatic Center from 6:00-8:00 p.m. for 7th - 12th grade students.

Football Benefit Game  vs Valley View @ 7:00 at HOME… Admission will be $4.00 a person.  ONLY passes that will be honored are AAA passes. No staff or student passes will be honored.

Volleyball @ Cave City Tournament (SA) @ Cave City… time TBA

August 27th - Project Graduation Meeting @ 2:30 in the High School Cafeteria.  Seniors and parents are welcome to attend.

September 5th - 29th - Annual FFA Fruit and Meat Sale.  Please see an advisor or FFA member to purchase.

September 14th - FFA Meeting in the Ag Building @ 4 p.m.
