GENERAL NEWS

PHS Booster Club has some Kick-Off t-shirts for sell.  They are $10.  See Monica Brewington at MD Williams.

Students are asked to complete the "Student Needs Assessment" in their email accounts by the end of the school day Friday.  This assessment will take no more than 10-15 minutes to complete.

St. Bernards is currently accepting applications for the Patient Ambassador Program.  Applications are due September 15th.  This program allows students (ages 15-18) an opportunity to volunteer in a hospital setting where they will explore areas of healthcare and gain experience in helping others.  It will be a year-round program allowing them to fulfill any of their needed community service hours or graduation requirements.  Applications may be picked up in the nurse’s office.

Duty teachers - band students currently have permission to come to the band room at lunch, as they have a project due.  We'll let you know when they'll need individual notes again.

CLUB NEWS

History Club: Meeting on Monday, August 28th during lunch in Ms. Galvan's classroom.  If you are interested in becoming a member of the History Club please make plans to attend.  

LINK has a very important meeting on Friday,  September 1, in the Junior High gym starting at 12:10 p.m.   All students that are interested in joining LINK/PRIDE/COALITION, please attend this short  20 minute meeting. This first meeting will include high school and junior high school students. Calley Shore will be here and plans on giving out really cool prizes to everyone that signs up to be part of the Randolph County Coalition. LINK/PRIDE members are joining up with the Coalition to make a bigger impact on Pocahontas.  Mrs. Cox will be your LINK/PRIDE sponsor this year at both the high school and junior high school.

FFA Members wanting to go to National FFA Convention need to bring $100 deposit before they can sign up for convention.  Please see Mr. Washburn for more information.

S.W.A.T. will meet on every Tuesday in Mrs. Baty's room.  Everyone is invited.  You can bring your lunch.

News from the Counselor…

Any student interested in a career in nursing is being asked to complete a 10 question survey. Please email me back so that I can share the information with you.

FRIDAY

Teachers please release the football players at 2:50 today.

Everyone is invited to attend the Writer's Group on Monday in Mrs. Bass' room and on Friday in Ms. Crutcher's room during lunch.  Please bring some of your written work.

Mrs. Cox needs to see the following high school students at lunch (8/25/17): Morgan Sanders, Makayla Sorg, Rachel Baltz, Luci Smith, Eli Smith, Jenna Kester, and Hailey Winspear in her office at the Jr. High.

FCCLA meeting Friday at lunch.  Bring your lunch and come to the courtyard to learn what it's all about.  FCCLA is for anyone who is in any FACS Class (Mrs. Lynch, Mrs. Bradley) or had any FACS class last year (Mrs. Lynch or Mrs. DeShaw).  

Sr High Football Benefit Game  vs Valley View @ 7:00 at HOME… Admission will be $4.00 a person.  ONLY passes that will be honored are AAA passes. No staff or student passes will be honored.
