Students,
If you are taking BRTC courses in the Fall, please read this email carefully. Be aware that BRTC courses will begin Monday, August 17th, and is BEFORE classes at Pocahontas High School on Monday, August 24th. This applies to
- online BRTC courses
- BRTC campus courses
- CTC (TOPSS) program courses (CNA/Phelbotomy; Machine Tool; Auto Collision; and Welding)
If you are taking concurrent credit for AP Lang/Comp, AP Literature, or AP U.S. History, this does not apply to you. Those courses will begin when PHS classes begin.

1. BRTC classes will begin on August 17. ALL classes are scheduled to begin on this day, including concurrent and CTC (formerly called TOPSS).
2. CTC student orientation will be held on August 13 (Pocahontas) . Students who have applied will be notified by mail in early August of their orientation day/time, as well as, the specifics.
*If you choose the virtual high school option, you may still enroll in BRTC concurrent and/or CTC courses but need to be aware that BRTC is not offering a virtual option for all of their courses. If you enroll in an on-campus BRTC course, you must be in attendance.
