GENERAL NEWS

Special Olympics T-shirt orders have been extended until Friday, October 27th.  Order forms are by the bulletin board across from the office.  Get your orders in today !!! Support our Olympians!

It’s Hot Roll Time!!!  Place orders by November 8th with any building cafeteria. This is an annual fundraiser to help needy families in our school district.

If you have borrowed a calculator from Mrs. Steimel, please return it ASAP!!!

Tennis players,  please get your uniforms washed and turned in to Coach Cavenaugh ASAP.

The Clothing Closet is now up and running.  If you are a student in need of some items please see Mrs. Steimel at your discretion.

HAPPY ROCK HUNTING:  The cafeteria is hiding rocks on campus each week during the month of October!  Find any of these rocks and return to PHS cafeteria for a free item.  Please turn in the rocks when you find them so we can continue hiding them each week.  

Tuesdays in October will be College Gear Days. Students and staff, please wear items from the college of your choice!

Yearbooks can be purchased from Ms. Crutcher in Rm 4 or at www.jostensyearbooks.com

Tutoring has begun: Literacy with Mrs. Bass (includes all other areas) on Tuesday and Thursday each week. Tutoring is after school from 3:30-4:30.  Math Tutoring 3:30-4:30 Tuesday-Thursday of each week!

REMINDER to Students & Staff:  If students arrive on campus after the tardy bell at 8:00 a.m. they are to check in at the office.  Students should have a tardy slip/pass from the office if they come into class after the bell; if not send them to the office to sign in.

***Please remember to use caution when walking to and from buildings.  Students should use the crosswalks especially of the mornings and the afternoons when traffic is the busiest.  Drivers please use caution and be aware of students walking around campus.

CLUB NEWS

FFA -  Any FFA Member wanting to show animals in the spring or fall needs to see Mr. Washburn by October 31st.  

LINK meetings are every Monday in Mrs. Moffett's room from 12:10-12:30. Contact Mrs.Cox for more details.

S.W.A.T. will meet on every Tuesday in Mrs. Baty's room.  Everyone is invited.  You can bring your lunch.

Key Club  meets every Wednesday in Mr. James Room (#19)

NHS meetings are every Thursday at 12:15 in Mrs. Murray's room for officers and committee members only.  ALL members will meet the first Thursday of each month (same time & place).  Role is taken at each meeting and members must participate.

Seniors remember to check your email often for news and updates pertinent to you.

A new list of seniors with corrections has been posted on the bulletin board.  Please double check it to be sure your name is correct.  This is how your name will be spelled on your diploma.

To help with the haunted house fundraiser Project Graduation is asking for seniors to donate bags of candy. To donate candy please turn it into Victoria in the PHS Cafeteria.

Senior Pictures are Due January 8th, 2018.  Seniors may submit a senior picture or use their composite.

Remember as you are applying to attend post-secondary schools you must complete a PHS Transcript and Records Release Form to schools you are considering.  Mrs. Hogan has attached this document and sent to your email account.

Important information in your email  regarding A-State and ACT scores for consideration of admission and consideration for institutional scholarships.

U of A New Freshman Scholarships - NOVEMBER 1 - Priority Admissions Deadline: Complete an admissions application and request a scholarship application on the general admissions form, submit transcripts, and send test scores to the office of admissions by this date.

University of Arkansas - Early Admit is November 1st.

U of A New Freshman Scholarships - NOVEMBER 15 - Priority Scholarship Deadline: Submit a scholarship application by this date for priority consideration for academic scholarships

UALR has announced their scholarship deadline this year as:  Friday, December 1st.  Seniors you must apply and submit  prior to the deadline.

Arkansas State Early Admit is December 1st

ACT Student Champion Award - applications can be found at www.act.org/readinesschampions and are due December 31, 2017.  Questions directed to ccrc@act.org.

NHS Scholarship program opens October 6th… application deadline is January 30, 2018.  

Ready, Set, Graduate is set to take place at BRTC on March 16th.  All the seniors are invited to attend

The Marching Redskins will compete for the State Championship at 5:45p at War Memorial Stadium.  22 Bands have qualified for our class.  We're the fourth from the end of the day.  The awards are at 6:45.  Good Luck and we are so proud of you!

FAFSA Nite with BRTC for Seniors 6-7 p.m.

Parent meeting for Swim Team @ 6:30.  Meetings will be held in the Alma Spikes cafeteria. This meeting is being held for those parents not able to make the Sunday meeting.

Football game vs Westside @ 7:00 at HOME

Rep from UCA will be on campus from 11:45 to 12:30  to visit with students during lunch in the student center lobby.  Please plan to visit with him.

Senior Night for Fall Athletes & Band Members - Students and parent will be recognized before the game. This includes football, volleyball, tennis, golf, cross country and band.  Notes will be sent home.

December 5th - The Rep from BRTC will be on campus at lunch to visit with students interested in attending the college.
