-GENERAL NEWS-

2020 Yearbook Pick-Up

Any class of 2020 seniors who pre-ordered a 2020 yearbook can pick them up from 3:30-6:00 p.m. on Friday, September 4th, in front of the high school. 

Virtual students who pre-ordered yearbooks can pick them up from 4:30-6:00 p.m. next Wednesday, September 9th in front of the high school . 

Yearbooks for on-campus students who pre-ordered will be distributed in their 4th hour class on Tuesday, September 8th. 

Further announcements will be made later on the sales of extra copies. 

Red folders are due!  Please turn into the office ASAP if you have not yet.   

If you are driving and parking on campus you must purchase a parking tag.  See Mrs. Cyndy or Mrs. Dianna in the office to purchase ($3.00) or pick up your tag.  

Still need a Chromebook?  Come to the office and we will get in touch with tech to get you one as soon as possible.   

Parking:

~~Park only in your class designated area.  If you’re not sure where that is… ask the office. 

~~Do not back into parking spots- You must pull through!

~~Once you arrive on campus, you are not to sit in your vehicle.  You need to exit your vehicle and come into the building.  

VIRTUAL STUDENT PARKING:  If you come onto campus during the school day for athletics or band, you need a parking pass.  You also are to park on the high school campus and not at the junior high.  

Please remember that you should not have headphones in/on while in the hallways.  They should only be out when allowed in class. 

If you need any supplies, Mrs. Hampton has lots of paper, binders, pencils, etc.  She also has several National Guard lanyards to hold your mask!  Please stop by the counselor's office if you need something.

Bottled Water for sale in the Library  $1.00   Plain water and flavors (lemon, orange, and wild berry)

Any student in grades 7-12 who are interested in running, please make contact as soon as possible with the coach @   holly.toney@pocahontaspsd.com

Any student interested in joining the History Club, please email Ms. Galvan @ jenniet.galvan@pocahontaspsd.com to let her know.

After school tutoring will begin September 1st. Tutoring will be held from 3:30-4:30. Math will be on Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday and all other subjects will be on Wednesday. There will be a virtual tutoring option through google meet for virtual students. On campus students will be expected to attend in-person tutoring. Any student who is currently interested in tutoring, or thinks they will be interested at any time throughout the year, should join the PHS Math Tutoring google classroom, using code 3dwagss and the PHS Literacy Tutoring google classroom using code wycakwu. Any virtual students interested in tutoring must join the google classroom to have access to the meet codes. Just like your regular classes, tutoring will have a different meet code each day. Anyone interested in running for Student Council Officer or Class Officer should email Ms. Hackworth (amanda.hackworth@pocahontaspsd.com)  by Thursday, September 3rd by 3:20.  Elections will be Friday, September 4th.  

Any FFA Member wanting to run for an FFA Officer can start filling out an application starting today (9/2).  All applications must be turned in with officer candidate films by September 16th.  The Officer Applications are on the Pocahontas  FFA Google Classroom Page.  The Code for the classroom is ixrmgza.  If you have any questions contact Mr. Washburn or Mr. James.

To send transcripts/test scores when applying for college complete the PHS Transcript/Scores Release Request in Google Drive.  Fill out information completely and Mrs. Stewart and Mrs. Hampton will send the documents for you.  See the School Record Release attachment from Mrs. Stewart to get your shot records sent as well. 

September 23rd - Senior Composite make ups and retakes.  There is a $15 sitting fee due up front.
