Friday we will have the 1st Annual Teacher Appreciation Turkey Hunt! Throughout the day Friday turkey cutouts will randomly be placed all over campus. Teachers, if you find one put your name on it and place it in the box located in the library. Students, if you find one write the name of a teacher that you appreciate on the turkey and place it in the box, located in the library. A drawing will be held last hour Friday for our teachers. Let’s hunt some turkeys on Friday and show our teachers how much we appreciate the work they do!

LINK was able to send a $500.00 check to the Leukemia Foundation from the fundraiser. At a different time, I will put the amounts that were collected by the different classes. Thank to all the students for their help on this great cause.

Congratulations to Mrs. Phelps' team on getting 1st in State on the eCybermission STEM Challenge! Team members, Rachel Baltz, Ashlyn Crosby, and Jenna Kester each received a $1000 savings bond prize from the US Army.

Attention 9th graders only!!!! Class Officer Petitions are available for the 2016-2017 school year. Petitions may be picked up in the Library form Mrs. Hausman. They are due no later than Wednesday, May 4 at 12:00 noon. Please return forms to Mrs. Hausman or Coach Brooks. Any current 9th grader interested in running for President, Vice President, Secretary or Treasurer of your class, must complete this form. Elections will take place Friday, May 6 during lunch.

πŸ·πŸ–πŸ·Student Council will be hosting a Kiss the Pig Contest. Teachers and staff members will have a bucket with their name on it located outside the student center at lunch from May 4- May 12. Students can place money and spare change into the teacher's bucket they would most like to see kiss a pig (yes, a big yucky one!). Proceeds will go to the backpack for kids program.🐷🐷

Jr. High Track Members need to turn in uniforms to Coach Chester in Complex or Coach Harper in her classroom.

Seventh grade GT students will be participating in Project Fair here on campus today (Thursday.) Please excuse them from classes today.

GT Project Fair is set up today in the classroom by the new gym. Teachers, please bring your classes by to view the displays. There is a wide variety of interesting topics. The students will be on hand to discuss and answer questions regarding their topics.

Please excuse the softball team on Thursday and possibly Friday for the regional tournament at Lonoke.

All NJHS OFFICERS must stay after school on Thursday to set up for the induction ceremony and read through the speeches.

Students running for Student Council may begin to put up posters on May 5. Each candidate may put up 2 posters in the MAIN hallway. Posters will need to be approved by Mrs. Hausman before they are hung.

National Honor Society induction ceremony - PJHS Library @ 8:00 a.m. NJHS Members, the induction ceremony is MAY 6. We will begin ASAP when the morning bell rings. If you want to attend, you may, but you must dress appropriately (no jeans, no shorts, no t-shirts). ALL members are invited to the reception afterward. You do not have to dress up if you are only attending the reception. It usually takes all of first hour and most of second as well.

The Pocahontas FFA Banquet will be May 6th at 6 p.m. in the Jr. High Cafeteria.

Driver's Education Class: Driver's Ed will be offered at PJHS on May 26th, 27th, 31st, June 1st and 2nd from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. (one hour break for lunch - lunch is not provided). Students will earn 0.5 elective Credit upon completion of class. In order to be placed on the list for driver's ed a student must have their Driver's Permit and a check in the amount of $200.00 (check will not be deposited until the first day of class). 2 seats available
