GENERAL NEWS

Sophomores who were interested in the TOPSS program, please see you e-mail for an invitation from Mrs. Stewart to take the ACCUPLACER next week.

Students that are in the tenth grade and are wanting to participate in the TOPPS program are reminded that you must have a 2.5 point cumulative grade point average at the end of this first semester.  This means that the grades you had first and second semester and this semester of the ninth grade will all be averaged together to determine if you will qualify.  Also, you must have qualifying scores on one of the following:  The ACT, the ACCUPLACER, or the ACT Aspire.  In January we will be giving the ACCUPLACER to students that need test scores that have the qualifying GPA and want to participate in the program.  Look for an invitation in your email when we return from the Holiday Break.

Yearbooks can be purchased from Ms. Crutcher in Rm 4 or at www.jostensyearbooks.com

Students are welcome to visit The Clothing Closet at any time.  One door will remain open so you can visit and take items that you or a family member can use (bags are available).  Some items are new and others are gently used.  Some personal care items, such as toothbrushes, hotel toiletries & haircare products are also available. Many coats & scarves have been donated recently for anyone in need of staying warm. People in our community donate to "The Closet" in hopes that items will be used by someone who needs them.  New items are being donated constantly, so feel free to go through this room multiple times.  Think of this as "Raiding a Brother/Sister's closet".  We need for these items to be used so that we can refill the closet with new/used things. If you (students or parents) need to visit the closet before/after school or on the weekend, make plans with Mrs. Steimel – lori.steimel@pocahontaspsd.com.  Names are kept confidential!! The Closet is located in the Kitchen Home Economics Building.
