GENERAL NEWS

Morning Traffic: For safety reasons cars are not to make U-turns on the west end of the campus by the Home Ec buildings coming back to the PHS campus.

Students must have a Drug Screening Consent form on file in the PHS office to participate in extra-curricular activities or to drive on campus. If you have not filled one out please stop by the office to pick one up.

Circle of Friends applications will be passed out during lunch in the student area. They need to be returned to Mrs. Courtney Throesch or the office please.

Any student who signed up for Spanish Club and wants to run for office needs to pick up an officer petition form from Mrs. Inman.

FBLA - Any student who would like to join FBLA needs to pay $15 dues to Mrs. Blalock by Friday, September 16th.

Students that checked out ACT Flashcards from Mrs. Steimel need to return those. Flashcards can only be checked out for 1 week so that other students can review them!!

FFA T-Shirts are now on sale. Each shirt is $10.00

The FFA Fruit and Meat Sale Starts September 12th and ends September 30th please see an FFA member if you want to buy Fruit or Meat.

Kick-Off T-shirts are on sale !!! Sizes youth large to 3XL - $10 a shirt. See Monica Brewington in her classroom at MD Williams.

St. Bernard’s is currently accepting applications for the Patient Ambassador Program. Applications are being accepted through September 16th. This program allows students (ages 15-18) an opportunity to volunteer in a hospital setting where they will explore areas of healthcare and gain experience in helping others. It will be a year-round program allowing them to fulfill any of their needed community service hours or graduation requirements. Applications may be picked up in the nurse's office.

ALL students who drive and park on our campus must have a current hang tag.

September 5th-11th - FFA - The Delta Fair

The Health Department will at the high school on Monday, 9/12 to give meningitis vaccination to those students who need the vaccination. Information and consent forms which require a parent/guardian signature will be sent home with those students and are due back on Friday, September 9, 2016.

Fall athletic passes are accepted at the gate for fall sporting events. Students must show their pass at the gate for free entry, otherwise students are to pay the $2 entry fee.

Today's LINK meeting is for all past members & those interested in joining LINK - 12:00 in the choir room.

Anyone interested should bring their $5 and can pick up a membership form at the meeting. This year we are going to be very active in our school and want everyone to feel free to join! (*Trips this year are for active LINK members only. There will be no "friends of LINK" on any trip. You cannot join after Oct. 5.) If you do not have $5 talk to me and we will find a way for you to still be in LINK. Questions? Ask Mrs. Phelps at our meeting Thursday!

The History Club will meet on Friday, September 9th in Ms. Galvan's room during lunch. We will vote for officers and look at club t-shirts. Any one interested in joining is welcome to attend.

SENIOR NEWS

SENIOR baby pictures are DUE FRIDAY, SEPT 16. Please bring them to Mrs. Sullinger in Room 4.

SENIORS that are interested in learning more about a career in health care. Planning and preparation is now underway for both “ADay in the Life -Variety and “A Day in the Life of a Nurse”. These one day programs help aimed at helping High School Seniors make a decision about a medical career by providing information, interaction with professionals, tours, and hands-on activities. Applications for these programs can be picked up in the nurse's office. All Applications should be submitted to UAMS Northeast in Jonesboro by September 23. Space is limited so students may only apply to one of these. Selected participants will be notified by text or email of their acceptance.
