GENERAL NEWS

Any Jr class member who would like to work on Homecoming needs to meet Sunday at 3:30 at the home of Bryan Palmer…. Ask Bryan for directions. Please bring $10 to help pay for supplies and food for tailgate!

This week is College Application Week !!! Students need to come by Ms. Crutcher’s office and either apply for college or show proof that they have applied for college and sign-up. Next Monday (10/3) there will be a drawing of participants for a $50 Wal-Mart gift card, a $25 iTunes gift card, and a BRTC sweatshirt.

Homecoming Dance Date Sign-Up Sheet is in the office. Deadline to sign up your date is Oct. 13th.

2016 Homecoming Shirts are now on sale through Friday, October 7th at 12:00pm. These may be purchased from Mr. Phelps at PHS or Coach Brooks at PJHS. White t-shirts $10.00 for Youth Small, Medium, and Large and Adult Small, Medium, Large and X-Large. Please add $2.00 for Adult 2XL and 3XL. White with Black sleeve baseball style shirts $15.00 for Youth Small, Medium, and Large and Adult Small, Medium, Large and X-Large. Please add $2.00 for Adult 2XL and 3XL. The same design is on both the t-shirts and baseball style shirts. Alma Spikes and MD Williams student will have an order form sent home. This years homecoming theme is "Going for the Gold". For pictures see the bulletin board across from the office.

Circle of Friends applications can be picked up in the office. They need to be returned to Mrs. Courtney Throesch or the office. Applications need to be turned in soon so we can get started.

Art Club enrollment is open through the month of September. If you are interested in joining, please join us for lunch on Thursday in Ms. Galvan’s room.

Anyone interested in Chess come see Mrs. Miller on Wednesday. Chess practice will be Wednesdays at noon.

S.W.A.T. will meet every Wednesday in Mrs. Baty’s room at lunch… Bring you lunch.

DRAMA CLUB MEETING DURING LUNCH EVERY WEDNESDAY

NHS Members- Please bring socks no later than Wednesday.. SOCK DRIVE ENDS Wednesday! Also DUES must be paid no later than Friday, September 30th !!!

Last Week to order fruit and meat from the Pocahontas FFA. The Fruit and Meat Sale will continue until September 30th. If you are interested please see any FFA member or contact Mr. Washburn, Mr. Hogan or Mr. James. The fruit and meat will be delivered the week of December 5th.

Student Ambassador applications (11th & 12th grade only) are available online at www.randolphchamber.com as well as by the bulletin board by the office. Being a Student Ambassador prepares students for participation in community affairs as well as furthering the mission of the Randolph County Chamber of Commerce. All Senior Ambassadors are eligible for the $500 Randolph County Chamber of Commerce Student Ambassador Scholarship. Applications are due no later than Friday, September 30th to the office.

ACT Prep Sessions will be offered during the 2016-17 school year for students interested in review sessions prior to the National ACT test. Each prep session will be from 3:30-4:30 and dates are 10/4, 10/5, 10/6. 10/11, 10/12, 10/13. Check your email and sign up for the date and subject.

The last day LINK dues can be paid is at the meeting October 6th. Drop by the choir room at lunch that day and get the latest info.

The Randolph County Health Department will be here on Wednesday, October 26th to administer the flu vaccine. Consent forms will be sent home with students in the upcoming weeks. Consents must be returned to the school nurse by Wednesday, October 19th.

Mr. Miller will be offering tutoring on Tuesdays and Thursdays before school or directly after school. Please make sure to let him know if you will be attending. Students can also stop by his room during 4th hour, if needed.

ALL students who drive and park on our campus must have a current hang tag.

Fall athletic passes are accepted at the gate for fall sporting events. Students must show their pass at the gate for free entry, otherwise students are to pay the $2.00 entry fee.

Congratulations to the girls Golf Team !!!! They got 5th in State… Way to go Ladies !

If you have turned in an application for Circle of Friends or if you would like to, please meet in the High School student center during lunch today.

There will be a meeting during lunch for all Homecoming Maids in Mrs. Hackworth’s room.

Tennis District teams meet AT Allen Park, Jonesboro @ 4:00… Please release the tennis team at 1:50 today so they may change for the matches in Jonesboro. The bus will leave at 2:00.

Volleyball (JRA, SRB/A) vs ICC AT ICC @ 4:30… The 7th and JrB games have been cancelled…. Jr High and Sr High volleyball players should be released at 1:45pm to travel to ICC. The bus will leave at 2:00pm.

SENIOR NEWS

Seniors check the list, on the board across from the office, for the correct spelling of your name. This is the way your name will appear on your diploma. If your name is spelled incorrectly let the office know.

On October 26th seniors will have the opportunity to attend a College Fair at Williams Baptist College. We will be leaving PHS at 8:15 and returning to campus no later than 10:00. In order to attend you must pre- register at www.gotocollegefairs.com and also complete the consent to travel form that is attached to this email. Please return your consent to travel form to Mrs. Hogan by 3:30 pm October 17th. No late forms will be accepted.
