Congratulations to the chess teams! Out of the 8 players participating from PJHS and PHS yesterday, we had the top five players there and three undefeated!

Congratulations to the Marching Redskins! After having a successful competition season with numerous achievements, the band placed third at the State Marching Band Championship. This was the first time Arkansas has had a band championship, and the judging panel only awarded six superior ratings. Pocahontas was one of those six. Well done, students!

Rolls On Sale! Place orders by November 11th at any school cafeteria. Hot Rolls - Wheat Rolls - Cinnamon Rolls . This is an annual fundraiser to help needy families in our school district.

ACT REMINDER: Please be remember that the registration deadline for participating in the December 10th ACT is November 4th.

LifeTouch will be returning for Senior retakes of the casual and cap/gown poses Monday, November 7th.

BRTC Spring Concurrent Class Registration:

Registration for BRTC spring concurrent classes will be November 8th from 9 am until noon and from 1 pm to 3 pm in Mrs. Hogan's office. It is important that you decide what classes you plan to take BEFORE Registration Day, November 8th, as this will be the only day to make arrangements for your spring semester classes and all schedules will need to be finalized by the end of the day. The application for online, on campus, and PHS campus is on the BRTC webpage. Online and BRTC campus class schedules are posted to BRTC's website. Tuition Rates are posted on the Concurrent Credit Enrollment Page. Payment for concurrent classes will not be accepted the day of registration. BRTC will send statements to students mailing addresses.

PHS Project Graduation 5k Color RunwithFun Saturday, November 12th. Adults $25, 10 and under $10. Must register by Oct 31 at 5pm to guarantee a T-Shirt. Sponsored by Black River Health Club

Anyone interested in Chess Club see Mrs. Miller on Wednesdays. Chess practice will be Wednesdays at noon in her room at junior high.

S.W.A.T. will meet every Wednesday in Mrs. Baty’s room at lunch… Bring your lunch.


Mr. Miller will be offering tutoring on Tuesdays and Thursdays before school or directly after school. Please make sure to let him know if you will be attending. Students can also stop by his room during 4th hour, if needed.

Beginning November 1st, Mrs. Henderson will be offering tutoring at 7:00 a.m. in her classroom on TUESDAYS. She will have a chrome cart available.

ALL students who drive and park on our campus must have a current hang tag.

Fall athletic passes are accepted at the gate for fall sporting events. Students must show their pass at the gate for free entry, otherwise students are to pay the $2.00 entry fee.


A representative from Williams Baptist will be in Mrs. Hogan's office during lunch.


Academic Assembly has been postponed to November 11th @ 2:30 and will be done in coordination with the pep rally.

There will be an FFA Meeting at 4 PM

SWIM TEAM: Swimmers must sign up for the meet today for the meet Monday, November 7th.

There will be a parent meeting for the Swim Team at 6:30 at Alma Spikes Cafeteria.

Senior Fall Preview Day for Williams Baptist is November 4th. Seniors wishing to attend and have college days available will need to complete a college day form and register at:

November 7th - Lifetouch will be here to do senior casual and cap/gown retakes. There will be a $15 sitting fee and you can pay the day of pics or pay in the office. If you have already had your pictures taken and not paid your sitting fee please do so as soon as possible.
