Mrs. Kristen Wiseman’s classes celebrated International Dot Day by combining art + science! Students used dots to model the three states of matter — solids, liquids, and gases — while showing off their creativity and teamwork. 🌟

Be sure to return the completed consent form to your school nurse by October 10th!

Today, members of the Pocahontas School Board joined our administrative team — Dr. Arbuckle and Mr. Green, along with building principals — on a tour of each building in the district. This kind of hands-on leadership helps ensure our decision-makers see firsthand the daily experiences of students and staff.
We value their dedication to guiding our district forward and making choices that support the future of Pocahontas Schools.

Mrs. Tanner’s class celebrated International Dot Day with a fun STEM activity! Students combined science, technology, and creativity to design their own projects inspired by The Dot by Peter H. Reynolds. 🎨🔬💡
We love seeing our students explore new ideas and express themselves through hands-on learning! 🌟

There are several brand new books from the book fair in the little free library located at the entrance of M.D. Williams. Please feel free to take one if any of our students were unable to get a book from the book fair.
🌟 Celebrating Character! 🌟
Mrs. Shelly Jones’ classes created a Character Traits Graph to highlight the positive qualities they practice every day. Each student made a name card and placed it above the trait from our Integrity Contracts that they feel they excel at most.
What a powerful way to recognize the strengths of our students and celebrate the values that guide us daily! 👏❤️🖤

Currently, 71% of Pocahontas students qualify for free or reduced-price meals. If we can reach 76%, our entire district will receive free meals for ALL students — no matter their household income — for the rest of the school year.
Even if you’re unsure whether you qualify, we encourage every family to complete the Free & Reduced Meal Application. There are many ways to qualify, and each application gets us closer to our goal.
Filling out the form benefits more than just your family — it supports every student in our district by unlocking additional funding for programs, technology, and resources.
