Pocahontas School District is looking for dedicated and compassionate substitute school nurses to join our team! If you're a licensed nurse who loves working with children and wants a flexible schedule, we’d love to hear from you.

Today in Ms. Crawford’s class, students read One Word for Kids and each chose one word to serve as their personal goal for the year. To bring those goals to life, students created wands to remind them of their “one word” throughout 2026.

A fun and meaningful way to start the year with purpose and intention!

During computer lab, our K–3 students work hard on i-Ready with a big goal in mind—100 lessons passed at 100% accuracy! To celebrate their dedication, classes that meet the goal earn a Glow Dance Party 🎶

🎉 Ms. Jones’ class was the first K–3 class to reach this goal! They actually earned their celebration before Christmas break, and we’re excited to finally share these photos from their well-deserved glow party.

Way to go, students—your hard work and focus truly paid off! 🌟👏

January is School Board Appreciation Month, and we are grateful for the dedicated leadership and service of our Pocahontas School District Board of Education.

Today’s assembly celebrated students nominated by their teachers and teachers nominated by their peers. Big congratulations to all who were recognized!

Our Pocahontas High School cheerleaders spent time reading to our third graders, and it was such a special experience for everyone involved. We love seeing our older students serving as role models and building connections with our younger learners!📚📣 Moments like these make our school community so special.❤️

🌦️📚 Our 2nd graders had a forecast of fun this week with a special visit from meteorologist Ryan Vaughan! Students loved learning how weather forecasts are made, asking great questions, and seeing how science shows up in our everyday lives.
