In honor of Black History Month, students in our Redskin Academy after-school program learned about Faith Ringgold. They enjoyed her powerful children’s book, Tar Beach, and explored how storytelling and art can come together in meaningful ways.
Inspired by Ringgold’s story quilts, our students created their own “story quilts” featuring images and ideas that represent what matters most to them. ❤️

Mrs. Vandergriff’s 1st grade class is glowing!✨
All classes work toward the same challenge: 100 scores of 100% — and when they hit it, they celebrate with a glow/dance party! Hard work + focus + a little fun = success. Way to shine, Redskins!

Ms. Roberts’ 3rd grade class had a special visitor on Valentine’s Day! ❤️
We were honored to welcome Mayor Futrell to spend time with our students. They enjoyed the visit and the opportunity to share what makes Pocahontas School District so special.

Today we celebrate School Resource Officer Appreciation Day and the incredible officers who serve Pocahontas School District each and every day.
Officer Catherine Young, Officer Michael Elledge, and Officer KC Starr are more than a badge in our buildings. They show up with steady leadership and genuine care. We also extend our appreciation to Officer Gage Matthews for always stepping in when needed and supporting our district.
Thank you for keeping our campuses safe, and being part of the Redskin family.❤️

💙⭐ Pocahontas Schools Supporting Make-A-Wish ⭐💙
Pocahontas School District is working toward becoming a Make-A-Wish Sponsor School, and we’re inviting our community to be part of something special.
Tomorrow, February 13, we will be at the 4-Way Stop at N. Park & Pyburn collecting donations throughout the day.
While the Have a Heart Wish-A-Thon is taking place across the Mid-South, donations collected at our location will directly benefit Pocahontas School District as we work toward reaching our goal.
If you’re able, please stop by and support this meaningful effort. Together, we can make a lasting impact right here in our own community. 💙
