Mark your calendars! Community in Action Day is coming to Pocahontas School District on April 11, 2026, from 10:00 AM – 2:00 PM at the M.D. Williams / Junior High Loop! Bring the whole family and enjoy: 🍔 Food Trucks 🏰 Bounce Houses 🎟️ Prizes 🐐 Petting Zoo …and so much more! This will be a great day to connect, celebrate, and enjoy time together as a community. We hope to see you there!

In honor of Black History Month, students in our Redskin Academy after-school program learned about Faith Ringgold. They enjoyed her powerful children’s book, Tar Beach, and explored how storytelling and art can come together in meaningful ways.

Inspired by Ringgold’s story quilts, our students created their own “story quilts” featuring images and ideas that represent what matters most to them. ❤️

The Camel Bus will be double routed this afternoon and will run 30-35 minutes late. Please contact your building office no later than 2:30 to make any necessary transportation changes. We appreciate your continued support and understanding.

Our 3rd graders who scored Level 2 or above on the MOY ATLAS Interim exam celebrated their hard work with a glow party! 🎉 We’re proud of their achievement and can’t wait to see even more students join the fun after the spring ATLAS Summative! 🌟📚

All classes work toward the same challenge: 100 scores of 100% — and when they hit it, they celebrate with a glow/dance party! Hard work + focus + a little fun = success. Way to shine, Redskins!

Mrs. Canard’s 2nd grade class set a big goal — and they crushed it! 💯

After earning 100 scores of 100% on iReady in computer lab, these students celebrated with a well-deserved Glow Party! We are so proud of these students for setting the bar high and rising to meet it. Way to shine, Redkins! ✨

Today we celebrate School Resource Officer Appreciation Day and the incredible officers who serve Pocahontas School District each and every day.

Officer Catherine Young, Officer Michael Elledge, and Officer KC Starr are more than a badge in our buildings. They show up with steady leadership and genuine care. We also extend our appreciation to Officer Gage Matthews for always stepping in when needed and supporting our district.

Our students and staff are out there representing Pocahontas School District with big hearts and a shared goal — helping grant life-changing wishes through Make-A-Wish. If you’re out and about today, consider driving by, giving a honk, or making a donation. Every dollar makes a difference. Thank you for always showing up for our kids and our community. 💫
