For families like Carla Wiseman and Kristen Thielemier, Pocahontas is more than a workplace — it’s home. Carla has dedicated decades to serving students in our district, while Kristen, a proud PHS graduate, returned to raise her family and give back to the community that helped shape her life.

When you choose Pocahontas, you’re choosing a community that invests in students, supports families, and builds lasting connections.

📝 School Choice Deadline: June 1

Choose Opportunity. Choose Pocahontas. Choose to be a Redskin.

❄️🐻‍❄️ Hands-On Science in Ms. Muller’s Class! Students recently learned how Arctic animals stay warm by studying blubber. To see it in action, they placed one hand in a bag with Crisco and the other without, then dipped both in icy water. The “blubber” hand stayed much warmer! Learning comes to life through hands-on experiments like this. 🧪✨

Our elementary students had some special guest readers this week — Rotary Club members and even Dr. Lance Arbuckle and Mr. Green joined in the fun! We love seeing leaders from across our district take time to sit in a classroom, share a story, and help inspire a love of reading.

In honor of Black History Month, students in our Redskin Academy after-school program learned about Faith Ringgold. They enjoyed her powerful children’s book, Tar Beach, and explored how storytelling and art can come together in meaningful ways.

Inspired by Ringgold’s story quilts, our students created their own “story quilts” featuring images and ideas that represent what matters most to them. ❤️
