We are proud to celebrate two major accomplishments that reflect our district's commitment to serving students and families.

Beginning with the 2026–2027 school year, every Pocahontas School District student will receive FREE breakfast and FREE lunch through Provision 2. This achievement helps ensure every student has access to nutritious meals each school day while providing meaningful support to families across our district. Families will still be asked to complete a meal application, as these applications are critical to supporting district funding and the long-term success of the program.

That commitment to serving our community extends well beyond the school year. This summer, our Child Nutrition Department provided 9,873 meals to children throughout our community during 28 days of service, including 4,681 breakfasts and 5,192 lunches. On average, the team served approximately 353 meals each day, ensuring children continued to have access to healthy, nutritious meals while school was out of session.

These accomplishments are a testament to the dedication, compassion, and hard work of our Child Nutrition Department. Thank you to our cafeteria staff for the care you show our students and community each and every day.

Pocahontas School District is excited to introduce Ballfrog, a new platform designed to make it easier for our students, families, and community to stay connected with Redskin athletics.

With the Ballfrog app and our new athletics website, you'll have one convenient place to access schedules, purchase tickets, receive notifications, and stay up to date with athletic events and information.

Visit our new athletics website:
pocahontasathletics.com

Simply scan the QR code below to download the Ballfrog app and get started.

Please note that Ballfrog is not replacing the Pocahontas School District app. Instead, it serves as our dedicated athletics platform while our district app will continue to provide districtwide news and information.

As we launch Ballfrog, information will continue to be added and updated daily. We appreciate your patience as we continue building this resource for our students, families, and community.

The Pocahontas Redskin Shooting Team recently competed in the Arkansas Farm Bureau Foundation FFA/4-H Trap Shoot. The team posted a score of 212 out of 250, earning a 14th-place finish out of 40 teams from across the state.

The team represented Pocahontas well and continues to show growth and improvement throughout its inaugural season. Competing against strong teams from across Arkansas provided valuable experience and an opportunity for our students to demonstrate their marksmanship, safety skills, and sportsmanship.

The Pocahontas Shooting Team would like to thank Randolph County Farm Bureau and Baltz Feed Co. for their generous support of our program. Their sponsorship helps provide opportunities for our students to participate in competitions and continue developing their skills.

The Pocahontas Redskin Shooting Team recently had both a Junior High team and a Senior High team qualify for the Arkansas Youth Shooting Sports (YSS) State Tournament. This tournament brings together teams from all classifications across the state, allowing students to compete against the best shooters in Arkansas regardless of school size. The Senior High team posted a score of 104 out of 125 in the opening round, falling to Westside, which went on to finish 6th overall in the tournament. The Junior High team scored a 108 out of 125 in the first round to advance and followed with a 95 out of 125 in the second round. Their performance earned them a finish among the top 32 teams in the state. We are proud of our student-athletes and the hard work they put in throughout the season while representing Pocahontas with pride.
