Pocahontas School District is looking for dedicated and compassionate substitute school nurses to join our team! If you're a licensed nurse who loves working with children and wants a flexible schedule, we’d love to hear from you.

Requirements:
🩺 Current RN or LPN license
🗓️ Availability during school hours (as needed)
❤️CPR certification

Today we’re celebrating Allison Swann, our Career Coach, for the meaningful role she plays in helping students explore career options, set goals, and prepare for life after graduation. We’re grateful for her dedication and the positive impact she has on our students every day! 💼✨

Pocahontas School District students in grades 5–12 are invited to be part of our Redskins Shooting Team! No experience is required—beginners are welcome. Students will learn trap shooting in a safe, supervised environment while building skills in safety, focus, responsibility, and teamwork. Participants will also have opportunities to practice, compete, and participate in local and state events.

Our Pocahontas High School cheerleaders spent time reading to our third graders, and it was such a special experience for everyone involved. 🎄✨ FFA Christmas Party ✨🎄 FFA members came together to celebrate the season with a festive Christmas party full of fun, laughter, and holiday cheer.

Last week, NHS members gathered during lunch to wrap gifts that will help provide Christmas for 8 elementary students, including clothing, shoes, coats, and toys. A meaningful reminder of the impact of kindness and service. 🎁❤️

Students in our Food Safety and Nutrition classes spread some holiday cheer by baking Christmas sugar cookies! 🎄🍪 They’re excited to take their new skills home for the holidays.

Last week’s Christmas celebration was full of smiles, games, and holiday magic! Our students had the best time together, and it was a beautiful reminder of what makes Pocahontas Schools so special — everyone belongs here. A big shout-out to our National Honor Society students for helping make the day unforgettable. Their kindness, encouragement, and willingness to jump in created such a welcoming atmosphere for all. We’re proud of the inclusive spirit that shines across our district every single day. ❤️✨

Last week, our choir students took their talents into the community by visiting local nursing homes to sing and share a little holiday joy. Their voices, smiles, and kindness created a meaningful moment for residents and staff alike. We’re proud of these students for representing our district so well and for using their gifts to brighten someone else’s day. ✨🎄

📹🏀 EAST x PHS Collaboration Takes the Court! 🏀📹 Our PJHS EAST students have teamed up with Pocahontas High School students to begin live streaming and broadcasting our home basketball games — and their first official debut last night was a success! This collaboration gives students hands-on experience with broadcasting, production, and technology while bringing our community even closer to the action. 👏 Stay tuned for more livestreams and updates as this project continues to grow! We’re proud of these students and excited to see where this partnership leads. ❤️

🐾 Animal Science in Action! Our students got hands-on practice today learning how to properly vaccinate animals—using bananas and oranges to safely simulate the process. They loved seeing how the “medicine” spread using food coloring, and we’re proud of the real-world skills they’re building! 👏💙
