NHS Toy Drive for St. Jude Children’s Hospital

Our National Honor Society is currently hosting a toy drive to support the patients at St. Jude Children’s Hospital! We are accepting new gift donations through Friday, April 24, and our NHS officers will personally deliver the items on April 29.

To ensure all donations meet hospital guidelines:
✔️ No liquids or items with batteries
✔️ No soft or plush toys (for sanitation purposes)

Donations can be dropped off at any building office or turned in to Mr. or Mrs. Murray. Thank you for helping our students make a meaningful impact for children in need!

Parents and guardians are invited to attend the High School Academic Assembly on Thursday, March 19. The assembly will begin at 8:45 AM in the high school gymnasium as we recognize and celebrate our students’ academic achievements.

We look forward to honoring the hard work and accomplishments of our students!

📣Pocahontas Community Heads-Up📣 We’re excited to welcome 25 schools and 700+ student-athletes to Pocahontas for the Jr. High Peco Relays today—and we’ll do it all again tomorrow for the Sr. High Peco Relays! With this many visitors in town over the next two days, our local restaurants, shops, and businesses could experience increased traffic throughout the afternoons and evenings. Let’s show them what makes Pocahontas special.

The community is invited to celebrate culture and heritage at Islander Night tomorrow at M.D. Williams School from 2:00–5:00 PM.

This special event will feature traditional foods, cultural dances, and displays that highlight Islander heritage for everyone to enjoy. It’s a great opportunity for our community to come together, learn, and celebrate the rich cultures represented in our district.

Our Pocahontas Redskin baseball and softball teams showed up strong for NEA Sports Media Day! Proud of these student-athletes and excited for the season ahead.

Students had a great opportunity to attend the Kiwanis meeting recently at Black River Technical College! They learned about the Kiwanis Club’s upcoming 21st Annual Golf Tournament and the many ways our community can get involved and show support. We appreciate opportunities like this that connect our students with local organizations and help them learn the value of community involvement.

⚾ Game Update for Redskin Fans ⚾ Due to field conditions in Newport, today’s High School Baseball game has been moved to a HOME game and will now begin at 4:30 PM. Come out and support your Redskins on our home field!
