Attention Parents: Tuesday, August 13, 2024. Due to lack of bus drivers the Duck bus will be double routed everyday like last year. Duck bus riders will be arriving home a little later than usual. Thank you for your patience.
PES staff is excited to have our little redskins back for the first day of school! Drop-off starts at 7:15 AM, door closes at 7:45 AM. Late? Go to the office and check your child in. Bus riders are dismissed at 2:55 PM, car riders can be picked up at 3:00 PM. Parents must collect their kids from their teacher. Students not collected there will be taken to the office for pick up. Please contact the office with any transportation changes at 1-870-892-4573 Ext. 1003

Our staff has been busy preparing our buildings for the return of students in coming days. In addition to wax floors and cleaning classrooms, we have also upgraded the HVAC system at MDW, stabilized the foundation in the fourth grade wing and several other projects. Pocahontas Elementary is now open for orientation until 6:00 pm. Parents and students are welcome to enter the building at the end of their grade level wings. We ask that parents stop by the gym for the orientation expo and photo booth before you leave.
Reminder: Tomorrow, Friday August 9th is orientation @ Pocahontas Elementary for Pre-K, Kindergarten, 1st, 2nd, & 3rd grades. Drop in any time between 1pm-6pm. Please disregard any other communications that originally had todays date of August 8th. We look forward to seeing you!
Important Notice: Immunizations are a required part of education in Arkansas. Please note students are required to be up to date with vaccinations or have an exemption on file with the school nurse. A record of the vaccinations or exemption must be on file by September 30. Any student without this documentation must be excluded from school until this requirement is met. Please contact your school nurse with additional questions.

PES Kindergarten Readiness Assessment has finally arrived. It is tomorrow!! Kindergarten students were assigned to an assessment time and room at registration. Please review that assignment and arrive at school at the appropriate time tomorrow.
Parents will park in the east parking lot which is to the right of the building. Parents and students will enter the building through the third grade hall.
If you lost your assignment sheet or you still need to register an incoming kindergarten student, contact the office tomorrow morning. 870-892-4573 ext:1002
