Recently, Superintendent Dr. Lance Arbuckle had the opportunity to meet with the Pocahontas Ministerial Alliance to share information about the 2025 Millage Campaign. We are grateful for the chance to provide clear information and answer questions as we continue working to keep our community informed.
👉 Don’t forget: our first public informational meeting will be held on Tuesday, September 9 at 6:00 PM at the Pocahontas Community Center.

The Pocahontas School District invites all community members to join us for a public informational meeting about the 2025 Millage Campaign.

The purpose of this meeting is to provide clear information about the proposed millage and to give our community the opportunity to ask questions and share their voice. We encourage families, guardians, and community members to attend and be part of the conversation.
The Pony Bus is running a little behind this afternoon as they had to make an unexpected detour while in route. They are now back to the scheduled drop off locations, but may run 5-10 minutes late
📣Redskin Academy is back!📣
We are excited to announce that enrollment is now open for the Redskin Academy After school Program, funded by a 21CCLC federal grant.
✨ Students will enjoy:

✅ Academic enrichment & homework help
✅ Fun activities
✅ Placement in the RCA House System for teamwork and fun
📝 100 spots available! Previous attendees will receive priority placement. Parents will be notified of enrollment before the program begins on September 8th.

Join us for the Senior High benefit football game on Thursday, August 21st at 7:00 PM🏈
Come cheer on your Redskins as they take the field! All proceeds will go toward the AAA catastrophic insurance fund.
🎟 Admission: $5 tickets for students and adults. No athletic passes will be accepted.
Arrival still begins at 7:15 on the East side of the building-Car Drop off. the duty staff will open the East doors at this time. Students will need to wait in their cars until then.
Anyone arriving after 7:50 will bring your child to the front door and check them in through the office. (Do not send a student through the front door alone.)
The First Day of School Tradition!!!!
On the first day of school each year, parents are allowed to walk their child to their classroom. This will start at 7:30 to allow the staff to report as normal.
Please refer to the parking map that was shared earlier. Students with parent escorts will enter through the East wings (2nd and 3rd grade halls) or the front door.

The Pocahontas School District will be closed Today, August 7th, and Tomorrow, August 8th. We will resume normal operations on Monday, August 11th.
Incoming kindergarten students will be assessed on Wednesday, August 6th. Please bring your child to the Pocahontas Elementary building between 8:30 and 11:30. Parents will be placed in the gym during this time. Students do not need to bring supplies on this day.
Requirements:
🩺 Current RN or LPN license
🗓️ Availability during school hours (as needed)
❤️CPR certification
