This week, Pocahontas School District students and staff successfully completed bus evacuation drills with the support of Black River Technical College. We’re proud of our students, staff, and transportation team for their teamwork and focus on safety. A special thank-you also goes to our local safety agencies for assisting with these important drills and for their continued partnership in keeping our students safe.
As part of our planning, we want to remind families that if an emergency ever required us to relocate students, our official Parent/Student Reunification Site is:
Black River Technical College Randolph County Development Center Lobby – 1410 Hwy 304 East
Parents and guardians would be directed to this site for a safe and orderly student pick-up. Thank you to everyone who helps us make safety a top priority at PSD!

Starting Monday, we will engage in a bus evacuation and reunification drill for all students and staff. This drill requires relocating students off campus to a safe location. We will have buses transporting students from campus to BRTC mid-morning several days next week. We are sharing this information so all members of our community are aware that this is a planned and coordinated drill and there is no real emergency. As always, thank you for your support.

This prestigious honor recognizes Arkansas high school student-athletes who excel both on the field and in the classroom. Only 13 student-athletes across the state receive this recognition each year, and Carter has earned his place among them.
Way to go, Carter — your hard work, dedication, and excellence make Pocahontas proud! 🏈❤
