Our M.D. Williams Student Ambassadors are collecting new/unused winter hats, gloves, socks, and small blankets from December 2–16 to help keep our students warm this winter!

Donations can be:
• Dropped off in the M.D. Office, or
• Sent with your child to their homeroom teacher

🏅 Team Results:
• 13th out of 93 teams in the state
• 4th out of 29 in our FFA District

🔥 Individual Highlights:
Abram Hibbard and Peyton Amos both placed 9th out of 421 shooters with an impressive 47/50 score!

We’re proud of their hard work and strong performance — and even more excited to share that a school trap team will officially begin in January! Way to go, students!

The Pocahontas Board of Education work session originally scheduled for December 1 has been canceled. In addition, the called Special meeting of the Board has also been canceled. The next meeting will be the regular monthly board meeting December 15.

Wishing all students and staff a joyful and restful Thanksgiving Break! Enjoy this time being with family and friends. We look forward to welcoming everyone back to school on December 1st.

FROM THE SUPERINTENDENT: I want to extend my sincere appreciation to the Pocahontas community for your engagement throughout the recent millage discussion and for the thoughtful consideration you gave to the proposal. Our school district is fortunate to have a community that cares deeply about its schools, asks important questions, and remains invested in the success of our students. Although the millage request did not pass, our commitment to providing high-quality educational opportunities for all students remains unchanged. The needs facing our district still exist, and we will continue to address them with the same focus and dedication. In the weeks ahead, the full school board will work together—collectively and transparently—to review our options and determine the most responsible and effective path forward for our facilities. This process will include careful evaluation, open discussion, and continued communication with our stakeholders. Any long-term plan for our schools must reflect the shared values and priorities of our community. Thank you again for your engagement, your input, and your ongoing support of the Pocahontas School District. We remain committed to working hand-in-hand with our families, staff, and community members to ensure that our students receive the very best opportunities we can provide.

The Pocahontas School District would like to inform our community that the Pocahontas High School Band will not be traveling to the second-round playoff football game this week. We wish our Redskins the best of luck in the playoffs, and we encourage all fans to come out and cheer them on! Go Skins!

🌟 Pocahontas Interact at Rotary! 🌟 Interact students attended the local Rotary Club meeting this week, where McKinley Huddleston served as the keynote speaker. She shared highlights from her experience at RYLA (Rotary Youth Leadership Awards) in Little Rock after being selected by Rotary to attend. Ms. Hudson also updated the group on Interact’s recent monetary drive supporting Together We Foster. We’re proud of these young leaders and the impact they’re already making in our community! ❤️🤍

Our 1st–3rd grade students were recently invited to participate in the Clay County Electric Holiday Card Contest, and we were thrilled with the number of entries submitted! The contest included students from schools across and around Clay County — and two of our very own Pocahontas students earned top honors! 🏅 2nd Place: Lucas Casillas 🏅 3rd Place: Ava Amos Their festive artwork will be featured in the Arkansas Living Magazine! We’re so proud of these talented young artists and all who participated in spreading some holiday cheer through their creativity!
