The Pocahontas School District is seeking a dedicated and reliable team member to join our Transportation Department.
Position Highlights:
✔️ 6.5-hour workdays
✔️ 240-day contract

Key Responsibilities:
-Perform fueling, cleaning, and light maintenance of buses
-Oversee organization and supplies in the transportation shop
-Collaborate with bus drivers and administration effectively
-Troubleshoot and support mechanical needs
Preferred Qualifications:
-Class B CDL (or willingness to obtain)
-Strong mechanical knowledge and troubleshooting skills
-Ability to work independently and manage time efficiently

Come cheer on your Redskins as they take the field! All proceeds will go toward the AAA catastrophic insurance fund.
🎟 Admission: $5 tickets for students and adults. No athletic passes will be accepted.

Students arrived safely at school, and the day is continuing as normal.

🚨Important Traffic Update🚨
Improvements have been made to the "horseshoe" parking lot involving Pocahontas Junior High and M.D. Williams Middle School. There will be one bus lane and three car drop off/pick up lines. Please refer to the graphic below for traffic flow purposes.⬇

📣 Important Update for the 2025–2026 School Year 📚
Pocahontas School District will begin enforcing the new Arkansas Bell to Bell, No Cell Law (Act 122), starting in the 2025–2026 school year. This state law prohibits students from using or possessing personal electronic devices during the entire instructional day — from the first bell to the last.
🚫 Devices NOT allowed during the school day include:
-Cell Phones
-Wireless Earbuds
-Smart Watches & Bluetooth Devices
-Digital Media Players
-Portable Game Consoles
-Audio/Video Recorders
📌 During school hours, students must:
-Keep all personal devices off or silenced
-Store devices out of sight (in a backpack or vehicle)
-Refrain from using devices in any part of campus, including classrooms, hallways, restrooms, and the cafeteria
✅ Exceptions will be allowed for:
-Emergencies (as determined by administration)
-After-school extracurricular activities
-School-issued devices for instruction
-IEP/504 accommodations
-College or concurrent credit classes requiring device use
-Special events, with administrative approval
⚠️ Violations will result in disciplinary action, which may include:
-Device confiscation
-Parent notification
-Additional school-level consequences
