Friday Night Lights will be shining down on Schoonover Stadium as the Pocahontas Redskins take on the Nashville Scrappers in Game 2 of the Playoffs! Kick off will be at 7:00 pm. Dress warm and rock your Redskin Spirit!!! To watch the game on livestream log onto the Pocahontas PSD district webpage at www.pocahontaspsd.com and click on PSD TV. This should bring you to a YouTube page where you can click on PSDTV or subscribe (free of charge; no scammers tonight let's hope). You can also go to Facebook and find the Pocahontas Redskin Fan Page and look for the link!
The Jr High and Sr High Girls and Boys Basketball games scheduled for Tuesday, November 22nd at Southside have been cancelled. These games will be rescheduled at a later date.
The Duck Bus will be double routed this afternoon and could cause a 15-20 minutes in children arriving at their destination.

Football playoffs tickets will be hosted through GoFan, the digital ticketing provider of the AAA. Last year, GoFan launched a brand-new event management system, GoFan HQ, where you can be in control of your upcoming post-season events. You will use the same login information you used to login last year for any post-season event your school hosted.
GoFan will continue to upload all events for the post-season, and you will be required to login to GoFan HQ to access your ticket link if you are hosting the event. If you are not hosting, the event link will be accessible on GoFan.co by searching your school’s name. Ticket links will no longer be emailed to you – you must access your ticket link through GoFan HQ or via GoFan.co.

Due to unforeseen circumstances with the dry conditions, the annual Homecoming Bonfire scheduled for Thursday, October 13th will be canceled. In lieu of the bonfire, we will extend the Tailgate Party and Pep Rally from 5:30 to 7:30 pm. We will continue to monitor the forecast and remain in contact with the proper authorities regarding any changing circumstances.

Meet Your District Counseling Department!
-Congratulations to our seniors, Hailey Hogan and Evelyn Phelps, who are two of 62,000 students from across the country to earn academic honors from the College Board's National Recognition Programs! These National Recognition Programs grant underrepresented students with academic honors that can be included on college and scholarship applications and connect students with universities across the country, helping them stand out during the admissions process. Colleges and scholarship programs use these honors to identify students from underrepresented groups through College Board's Student Search Service.
Hailey and Evelyn earned this recognition by excelling on their PSAT/NMSQT, PSAT 10, or AP Exams and in their classrooms. Students who may be eligible have a GPA of 3.5 or higher and have excelled on the PSAT/NMSQT, or earned a score of 3 or higher on two or more AP Exams; and attend school in a rural area or small town.-
