The First United Methodist Church sponsored this 9 week’s Book Bash Celebration. Eighth-grade students who recorded a book talk could enjoy Frito pies and participate in a Gingerbread House decorating contest. We encourage all 8th graders to enjoy a book of their choice and share their book on video. We will have two more Book Bash Celebrations this year!

Student Council sponsored the annual Backpack Food Drive in December. The food collected is used to help fill weekend backpacks for students in the Pocahontas School District. Thanks to all the participation from students and staff, this year over 8,000 items were collected. Mrs. Massey’s class was the winner for collecting the most items with over 3,700 items collected! Mrs. Dickson and Mrs. Whitener’s classes also put in strong effort this year and helped tremendously in supporting a great cause.
