These are the 7th, 8th, and 9th-grade winners who participated in the Share the Warmth Challenge and enjoyed a fun Friday during WIN time! They celebrated with snacks, prizes, and special tardy passes. Also, we want to acknowledge the outstanding accomplishment of this 9th-grade group, who were the top performers in both the Share the Warmth Challenge and the i-Ready test, achieving top results.

Character Trait: Resilience WEEK TWO: Knocked Down and Feeling Low Falling down is hard and painful and tiring. It takes time to get back up, and the truth is, you might not want to get back up. How do you find reasons to get back up when you are down? What are your “whys”, the reason to keep going when you aren’t a starter on the team, not first chair of the section, and didn’t get the lead? This week, we’ll talk about facing and overcoming adversity

January Character Trait: Resilience WEEK ONE: What is resilience? Resilience is a tough word. It doesn’t mean that everyone can pop back up at the same rate, or that everyone experiences the same types of setbacks, or has the same experience getting back up. It’s kind of like one of those punching clowns: everyone gets knocked down— just not at the same level, with the same resources for help, or the same past experiences in getting up from challenges. How do we pop back up anyway?

December Character Trait: Service WEEK ONE: What is service? Service and generosity are closely related. Both require us to see others in a way that allows for their needs to be visible, and both require action from us. This week, we will look at service as an action that you do to help someone do something that they couldn’t do without your help.
