Students in Ms. Amanda Washburn’s class are showing leadership in action! They’ve learned how to properly raise, lower, and fold the school’s flag and now take turns handling this important daily task. It’s a great way to build responsibility, teamwork, and pride in their school community.

Planning for the future starts now! Our Career Coach, Mrs. Allison Swann, has been working with 8th graders in Career Development classes to complete their Student Success Plans.

These plans help students set goals, explore career interests, and take steps toward a bright future. ❤️🖤

This week, our Pocahontas Junior High teacher teams came together for Collaborative Team Meetings focused on teamwork, planning, and student success.

These meetings give educators the opportunity to share ideas, problem-solve, and create strategies that help every student reach their full potential. 🌟

We’re thankful for the commitment of our staff across the district—collaboration truly drives growth and success! ❤️🖤

This school year, all students have access to free school breakfast thanks to the new “Breakfast for All” legislation. 🎉

We hope to see even more students taking advantage of this opportunity to start their school day with a healthy meal — fueling their focus, energy, and success in the classroom.

🏫 Building a More Accessible Future 🏫

Right now, our current high school building has three sets of stairs and is not ADA accessible. For students with disabilities, this creates barriers that make learning and daily routines much more difficult.

With the 2025 Millage Campaign, a new high school would provide modern, ADA-compliant facilities—ensuring every student has equal access to classrooms, resources, and opportunities.

Accessibility isn’t just a convenience; it’s a necessity. Together, we can create a school where all students can learn, grow, and succeed. ❤️🖤

Students used marshmallows and toothpicks to build molecule models, making chemistry both hands-on and fun. 🍡✨
